Opera Columbus releases 2008-09 schedule
Includes Gilbert & Sullivan's comedy The Mikado

Opera Columbus has announced its 2008-2009 season, which includes the return of locally produced light opera.

“We are thrilled to re-introduce light opera, produced by Opera Columbus, to our season” says Executive Director Press Southworth III.

Four shows will compose Opera Columbus’ 28th season: Go Wild! for Opera at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, July 11; The Pearl Fishers at the Ohio Theatre, Oct. 24 and 26; Turandot at the Ohio Theatre, Feb. 20 and 22, 2009; and The Mikado at the Southern Theatre, June 19, 20 and 21, 2009.

Several subscription packages are available including a four-show, three-show and two-show package. Go Wild! for Opera will be available as an add-on show to any package.

 

Subscriptions range in price from $42.50 to $206.25 and can be ordered by calling 614-719-6900. Single tickets will go on sale later in the year.
