Carol McClain Cosgrove originally hails from Philadelphia, which she says partially explains her affinity toward painting city scenes. “I have always loved the color and the excitement that a city brings,” she says. “I love being out in public and watching the movement and the energy of everything that is going on.” Cosgrove has been in Ohio, however, for more than 35 years and is currently a teacher in Hilliard. A member of the Ohio Plein Air Society and the Dublin Area Art League, she donates a percentage of the profits from her paintings to Patches of Light, an organization that helps families of children with cancer and other life threatening illnesses. Her paintings are oil on canvas with soft impressionist landscapes and cityscape preferences. To see more of Cosgrove’s work, visit
